Creating Referral-Only Users
Overview: This article provides the steps for Practice Administrators to create referral-only provider accounts. Referral-only providers are able to send and receive referrals without requiring provider registration or app involvement. For referring provider initiators, this allows them to send referrals from their EMR.
Who can create a referral-only account?
- Practice Administrators can create referral-only accounts for providers sending referrals through an EMR or receiving referrals through PicassoMD mobile and web app platform.
What are the restrictions with having a referral-only provider account?
- Providers with a referral-only account do not have mobile or web access to PicassoMD and therefore cannot initiate Curbsides or view/manage Referrals. They can always register after referral-only account creation to enable full functionality of the app.
How do I create a referral-only account?
- Click on My Practice on the left-hand side, then click on Providers.
- Click the blue button on the upper-right corner saying Add Provider
- Fill out the basic information including:
- Provider's work email address
- Legal name
- NPI
- Credentials
- Click Save
- After account creation, you can Notify the Provider or click Done. If you notify the provider, they will receive an email with details on the optional mobile app download to view real time updates of referrals and initiation Curbside consultations.
