How to Send a Referral After Completing a Curbside in the App
Providers can also initiate a referral immediately after completing a curbside.
To initiate a referral after a curbside, take the following steps:
Select “Refer to Specialist” as the plan immediately after completing a curbside
- A pop-up will appear after selecting "Refer to a Specialist". You can either tap "Continue" to complete the referral in PicassoMD or tap "Exit" to go back to the home screen
- If you choose to continue with the referral in PicassoMD, you will be taken to the referral screen. The provider with whom you did a curbside will be listed first, followed by your "Recent", "My Favorites", "Practice Favorites", and "Nearby Providers" (within 50 miles).
- You can send referrals to a specific provider or, if you don't have a preference for a particular provider, to a practice's office where it will be assigned to an available provider at that location
- You can search near any of your office locations or enter an address or even a city to search near. Providers and practices within 50 miles of the address will be shown.
- Filter providers by accepted insurance carriers
- When you've filtered by insurance, if a practice has yet to indicate what insurance they accept, you will see a grey question mark over the provider or practice's picture
- After choosing where to send the Referral, enter your patient’s basic information and choose the acuity level for the referral (Routine vs urgent vs emergent).
- Routine referrals are those that can be seen in 1-3 weeks.
- Urgent referrals should be seen within 1 week.
- Emergent referrals are those that need to be completed within 48 hours.
- The final step is to confirm the information and send the referral.
