Subspecialties
Overview: This article provides an overview of the subspecialties for referrals, how to add a subspecialty to your PicassoMD profile, and more. Specialists who have their subspecialty listed in their profile are more likely to receive referrals.
We have added subspecialties to 12 specialties. See full list of subspecialties below.

Specialists: How to change/update your subspecialty (mobile)
- Specialists can update/change their subspecialty at any point in the profile & settings section of the PicassoMD mobile app.
- Step 1: Log into the PicassoMD mobile app and tap on your profile photo in the upper left-hand corner.
- Step 2: Tap 'My Profile'.
- Step 3: Under 'User Information' tap on 'Subspecialties'.
- Step 4: Select all the subspecialties you want to accept referrals for. You must choose at least one.
- Step 5: Tap 'Save'.

Specialists: How to change/update your subspecialty (web):
- Specialists can update / change their subspecialty at any point in the profile & setting section of the PicassoMD web app.
- Step 1: Log into the PicassoMD web app and click on 'Settings' in the left hand navigation bar.
- Step 2: Click on 'General'.
- Step 3: In the 'Provider Info' box, click the blue 'Edit' button in the upper right hand corner.
- Step 4: Scroll down and you'll see your specialty and the associated subspecialties. Click on the box to the right of your associated subspecialty. You can choose more than one.
- Step 5: Click the blue 'Save' button and you're all set!

Note to Providers: Some subspecialties might not be available based on your location.
- When you select a specialty that has subspecialties, the subspecialty screen will appear. However, you can only select one subspecialty.
- During the referral process, you can only select one subspecialty.
- If there are no subspecialists in your area, we will show all other providers in that specialty.
How to select a subspecialty in the referral process (mobile):
- Step 1: After logging into the PicassoMD mobile app, tap 'Referrals' in the bottom navigation bar.
- Step 2: Tap the blue 'New Referral' button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
- Step 3: Choose a specialty by tapping the corresponding icon.
- Step 4: Choose your subspecialty. *When you select a specialty that has subspecialties, the subspecialty screen will appear. Note: You can only select one subspecialty.
- For example, if you choose cardiology as the specialty, you will see the associated subspecialties.
- Step 5: Simply continue with the referral process.

How to select a subspecialty in the referral process (web):
- Step 1: Log into the PicassoMD Web app and click on 'Referrals' in the left hand navigation bar.
- Step 2: In the top right hand corner of the screen, click on the blue 'Create New Referral' button.
- Step 3: When you click 'Browse by Specialty', a dropdown will appear below that says 'Select a subspecialty'. Click the dropdown arrow to the right of the box to see the associated subspecialties.
- Step 4: Next, choose a subspecialty and simply continue with the referral process.
- Note: You can only select one subspecialty.
